New Hampshire's water resources are protected under New Hampshire State Laws: RSA 485-A and RSA 482-A.

These laws protect valuable resources, including wildlife, surface water quality, and wetlands.

Avoid sensitive and restricted areas at all times, especially wetlands, lakeshores, streams, stream banks, & steep slopes.
  • Do not drive OHRVs through wetlands.
  • Do not drive OHRVs through surface waters.

Violations of the law are punishable by administrative fines:
  • Up to $10,000 per violation for willful violations.
  • Violators may also be required to restore damages.
